She individually tailors treatment plans to help deepen insight and draw on personal strengths. Based on each person's unique needs, this may involve the integration of: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT); Schema Therapy; Narrative Therapy; or Relational and Mindfulness-based approaches such as, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Yen works with adults, adolescents and school-age children who may be experiencing a broad range of difficulties including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, relationship, self-esteem, life adjustment, sexuality, sleep, impulse control and emotion regulation difficulties. She can provide short-term interventions or longer-term therapy for more complex issues. Yen also has a particular interest in working with individuals who may experience alterations in perception, thought and behaviour, such as in schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.
